«The eye views that
for which it is looking.»
Nocturnes, Landscapes, dreams and portraits – how does that match together? A common chronology?
Frequently it is the landscape, which I illustrate: topographically or metaphorically – as a soul portrait /face landscape, or as a depicted dream-landscape with symbolic character? Always the unconscious resonates and influences my production – I allow it and let myself be guided to something completely new. Would I look for a corresponding text, which comes close to my comprehension as a painter, I would choose Haiku poems.
Open images and words. In many Haikus they have an unique significance and create space for the associations of the reader/observer. Haiku poems tell about the moment – which can be completely imaginary. They relate to perceptions. They sharpen the senses. Finally a felicitous Haiku tells not everything.
